General Description

The Measurement Data Viewer allows the user to interactively select and view measurement data at with mean and P95/50 statisics. After the desired data points have been selected, the statistics can be saved as a reference curve; the user may then recall the defined reference curve from the reference chooser and compare with other references or selected data.

Selecting transducers to add to data set.

First choose the desired test number in the "Test #" Chooser Box

The user may select the transducer from the "Mic. Number" chooser list. The option to choose all of the interior and exterior microphone data is included in the chooser list. Microphones that are not used for the selected test are not included in the chooser list. Pressing the Add Data button will add the selected data to the graph and statistics set.

The color of the curve to be plotted may be selected from the "Curve Color" chooser before the curve is added to the data set.

All of the transducers will be listed on the left-hand side of the plot panel. Unselected transducers are light gray in the legend while the selected transducers will be printed in a color corresponding the the color chosen for that transducer.

Scaling Selected Data

Click the "Scale Data" button to scale all selected/plotted data. At this time the user may apply a chamber correction on the raw data. To apply the chamber correction, check the "Chamber Correction On" checkbox. To remove the chamber correction, uncheck the "Chamber Correction On" checkbox. The user has the option to apply/unapply the chamber correction to all data in the data-set or to a single selected curve (highlighted green). If a data set has already had the chamber correction applied or removed, no change will be made to the data.

Computing Statistics

Mean and P95/50 statistics will be automatically computed when the appropriate number of transducers have been selected. The mean is plotted with double wide red line and the P95/50 limits are plotted with thin red lines. Statistics are computed for all data included and plotted in data set.

Removing transducer data from the data set

Choose the desired Test number from the Test# chooser of the test you would like to remove. Select the transducer from the Mic. # chooser list, and then click the Remove Data Curve Button. Note that when the data is selected it will be re-plotted.

The curve may be also be selected from the plot panel. Clicking a handle (a small circle) on the desired curve will select that curve. The selected curve will turn green. To remove the curve click the Remove Data Curve Button.

Displaying or Hiding Transducer Curves

Checking or un-checking the "Show Data" checkbox will choose whether to plot or not plot the data. Chosen data will still remain in the data set if the Show Samples checkbox is unchecked.

Displaying or Hiding Statistics Curves

Checking or un-checking the "Show Mean" checkbox will choose whether to plot or not to plot the computed mean in the data set. Checking or un-checking the "Show P95/50" checkbox will choose whether to plot or not to plot the computed P95/50 bounds for the data set. Statistics on the chosen data will always be computed and included in the data set whether or not they are shown in the plot.

Selecting Reference Curves to Plot

Choose a specification, data from another measurement, or any other reference in the "Refs" Chooser, and then click on the "Draw Ref." button. The color of the reference curve may be specified with a The selected references may be hidden by unchecking the Show References checkbox. The color of the reference curve may be specified by selecting a color from the color chooser before the reference curve is added to the plot. Pressing the "Erase Ref." button will remove the selected reference curve from the plot.

Displaying or Hiding Reference Curves

Checking or un-checking the "Show Refs" check box will choose whether or not to plot the reference curves.

Selecting Curves from the Plot Panel

Clicking on a handle on the desired curve will select the curve and as a recently selected curve the curve will be displayed in green and will be selected in the chooser. A short description of the selected curve will be indicated at the bottom of the plot panel.

Changing the Axis Limits of the Plot Panel

Clicking on the y-axis of the plot panel will open a window in which the minimum and maximum axis values and the number of axis divisions can be specified.

Creating User Defined Reference Curves

If a single spectrum exists in the data set (is plotted in the plot panel), pressing the "Save Data" button will allow the user to name and add the curve to the Reference chooser list. This curve can then be recalled as a reference from the chooser list and plotted. If between 2 and 3 spectra are in the data set, pressing the "Save Data" button will allow the user to name and add the mean of the data set to the Reference chooser list. If more than three spectra are in the data set pressing the "Save Data" button will allow the user to name and add the mean and p95/50 statistics to the Reference chooser list.

At this time, a limit of 16 user defined reference curves may be created.

Creating User Defined Microphone Groups

Pressing the "Save Data" button and checking the "keep" checkbox for "Mic. Groups for Test #" will open enable a text field for which the user may name the microphone group. It is assumed that the user will defined microphone groups for specific tests/fights. The microphone group name will be added to the end of the Mic ID chooser List corresponding to the test/flight ID chosen at the time of the microphone group creation. However, the Viewer applet will not restrict microphones in a microphone group to come from a single test/flight. Also note that recalled data from the microphone group will be in its raw form, i.e. no scaling will be applied.

Clearing the Data Set

Click on the "Clear Data" button to remove all selected data from data set. Now a new set of statistics for a new data set can be generated. References will not be removed from the plot window.

Clearing the Plot Window

Click on the "Clear All" button to remove all selected data from the data set and all references from the plot window.
