visiSEAM productivity and visualization tools for SEAM
VisiSEAMª is a Windows-based graphical user interface containing productivity and visualization tools for SEAM¨. The visiSEAM program greatly simplifies the process of developing a SEAM model by providing the user with forms for data entry. Network and spreadsheet views of the input data are provided which speed the model development process. Quick-look plotting and table outputs allow the user to review SEAM output files and to compare results with those from a baseline model.
VisiSEAMª includes a network view of the model called SEANETª. With SEANETª the user can study the connections between elements and review the element properties. Elements, connections, and inputs can be copied and pasted in SEANETª providing the user with a rapid method for duplicating similar sections of a model. The user can also enter new SEA elements and make new connections in the network view. Elements and connections can be grouped into SEANETª Groups making it possible to avoid the clutter and complexity associated with network views of large models.
VisiSEAMª makes it possible to compare the SEAM predictions from a baseline model with predictions for a new SEAM model. This feature makes it a simple task to study the effect of model parameter changes on the noise and vibration predictions.
visiSEAM Technical Features
The visiSEAM software provides pre- and post- processing features for SEAM. The following list describes many of the standard features that come with visiSEAM. Other features are available on request. Please feel free to contact Cambridge Collaborative for more information on any of these features.
- Forms to enter SEAM material, subsystem, junction, and excitation parameters.
- Context sensitive help to assist new users in developing SEAM models
- Predefined and user-defined material and damping libraries
- Both english and/or metric units can be selected
- Special materials models for honeycomb, fiber, and viscoelastic materials
- Frequency-dependent material and damping properties can be defined
- Symbols can be used for material and element properties
- Spreadsheet views of model parameters
- Network views for model review and development
- Options for modal density formulation
- Options for junction compliance, vibration isolation mounts, and mass
- Options for fluid loading, component loading, and defined conductance
- Quick-look graphing of subsystem response and energy flow
- Selection of run-time parameters including frequency range and transients
VisiSEAM sets a new standard for ease-of-use. SEAM models can be quickly developed without the need for complex geometry definitions and file preparation. Screen shots showing the visiSEAM user interface are located in the application gallery.
